Prepare to toast a round of Cosmopolitan cocktails for Sex and the City 2!

Hold on to your Choos – Carrie and the rest of the girls are back with style and even more drama.  Since we last saw New York’s fashion-forward foursome, Carrie Bradshaw is now facing some problems in her two-year marriage to Mr. Big. It’s not until she catches Mr. Big flirting with a sultry Spanish woman at a bar that Carrie realizes that their relationship needs help.

So this is where it gets exciting,  The real dilemma comes when Carrie and her girlfriends take a trip to Abu Dhabi, where she runs into her former fiancé, Aiden.  The trailer shows them seeing eachother by chance and Carrie vents that it must mean something if they are running into eachother half way across the world.  Surely the return of Aiden will surely please loyal fans who fell for the furniture designer’s charm and wit when he romanced Carrie during most of the television show’s fourth season.

But through all their drama, Samantha reminds her girlfriends what audiences love the most about them: “We made a deal ages ago. Man, babies, doesn’t matter. We’re soul mates.” I cant wait to see this sequel which comes out on May 27th!

Don’t do this on your job hunt

Recently I have been emailing my resumes and going on diffrent interviews in search of a new job.  I have been doing this for the past week and I have been watching myself and the people who interview for me for the position.  I watch and learn to see what they do and do not like in an interview and after the interview.  I thought I woulld share a few tips and tricks with you guys.  Why? Well most of us are around the at 18-21 and are always looking for a part-time job while they are still in school.

One tip I have for you guys is not to show up to early to the interview. (I made this misake.) Interviews are scheduled at specific times for a reason. Hiring managers have other meetings and responsibilities to deal with throughout the day, so they can’t interrupt their schedule just to meet with you. Also, interviews often have multiple components.  Arriving 5-10min early is acceptable.  Another is dont Let your desperation show, trust me on this.  A negative attitude that causes you to vent about the hardships of being unemployed can leave you reeking of bitterness and repel employers.  And last which is very important is not to talk trash about anyone and your last boss in the interview. Its important to Stay positive. Explain why you want to work for the company. Point out how your experience has prepared you for this move. You don’t need to pretend that your former employer is a personal hero, but you should demonstrate that you are bringing something from the company other than your 401(k). Rather than belittle the competition, promote this company. Say, “I know your competitor is doing this, and they’ve had some success, but you have the ability to do this and that to beat them.” The focus remains on this company and also on your ideas.  I hope this was helpful to some of you.

Bieber Fever

Lately I have been hearing a lot of talk about this guy Justin Bieber.  I did some research on him to see what he was all about.  I really shouldnt call him a guy but rather a boy.  He is only 16 years old and making girls my age melt into ice when they hear his voice.  So as I sign on to my AOL screen I see a story about him.  The story was about  a hoard of half-berserk fans who clawed and kicked there way to get at Justin Bieber in New Zealand on Wednesday, knocking his mother down and stealing the hat off his head during an airport frenzy. Needless to say, the teen heart throb was not pleased, and has let his “Beliebers” know it.  (Yes, a friend of mine actually used that term one time, shes obsessed with him.)

Reading about that story really scares me.  Here we have a 16 year old singer with his mom and fans still do not know the meaning of resepct.  Thankfully his mother was not injured too badly and Bieber still voiced on how he was not happy with the situation but that he still loves his fans.  We hear about horror papparizzi stories all the time but what we have to remember as fans is that they are people just like us.  They obviously have mom’s and dad’s.  So as fans we just have to remember to go crazy from a distance if we cant control ourselves.

Are you worried about Lindsay Lohan? Do you care?

Last night, the paparazzi snapped Lindsay Lohan out late at night and they caught her falling down. Yeah I know what your thinking because I was thinking the same thing too.  You were thinking “Wow, again? What a hot mess.” Or something along those lines.  She had partied at a trendy Hollywood hot spot, before going to a friends house, where the incident occurred.  To be honest here I am getting really sick and tired of seeing breaking news in flashing lights being that Lindsey Lohan or any other hot mess young actress falling down being highlighting news.  Why should we give them that kind of attention?  In a lame defense Lindsey Lohan has said that she refuses to hide away and feel sorry for herself.

“If I go to a club that doesn’t mean that I’m drinking, that doesn’t mean that I’m cheating on anyone in a bathroom with someone,” she said. “All it means is that I’m going to sit with friends, listen to music because I love it and just have fun. It’s not a bad thing to do that. I can’t lock myself away.”

Well obviously if that really was happening she wouldnt have been sent to rehab on two diffrent occasions.  I dont wish anything bad upon her I just simply think that the world needs to re-think what is important news and what isnt.  We should really be disscussing real issues at hand here.  If we need to highlight Lindsey Lohans fall then we should talk about how young people should take better care of themselves instead of highlighting someone who is continuing to spirial downwards.

Amazing, Bank of America ends overdraft fees!

When I get home from work the first thing I usually do is put down my things and turn on the TV right before I get settled, as I flip on the television it happens to be on channel 5 and the KTLA news is on.  I walk away putting my things away and I hear the news guys go “Bank of America ends overdraft fees…”  I immediately drop what I’m doing to get the full story and here if this is true, and it is indeed true, Bank of America is ending the practice of issuing overdraft fees.  This is incredible and is a huge relief to me and I think to a lot of other people who have suffered an over draft fee. Now I know it may be annoying to have your card declined, and it may cause a hassle, but it’s also a hassle to realize your bank account is now $200 in the red because you made a couple of stupid purchases, not realizing your checking account was so low that your $3.95 non-fat latte from Starbucks has just cost you $39, or your $10 fill up at the gas station has meant $50.00.  So basically, what that means is, if you try to pump gas, and your checking account is on empty, your gas tank will stay empty or if you are in line buying your coffee for your caffeine fix, consider your fix not met.

Now the people who think that they still can go about there business and not watch there bank account and spend whatever they want are wrong.  The overdrafts are only ending for debit card purchases, so you may be over charged for certain things and still need to pay close attention to what you have.  Honestly you do not want to find yourself so deep in debt that you won’t be able to get out of. Does that sound like fun?  Do you like hearing that apparently last year alone, banks reportedly earned approximately $38.5 billion from overdraft and insufficient-funds fees?  Some people might think it will be embarrassing to have your card declined, but what I think is worse is going to jail for not being able to pay off what you owe or working for the rest of your life to pay off everything if you don’t watch what your spending and how much you have in your bank account. Now First Federal Bank, it’s your turn for no more over draft fees!

Alice in Wonderland? More like Disapointment in Wonderland.

Last night at midnight on March 5th I went to the opening of the long awaited Alice in Wonderland.  As a child I was obsessed with the original Disney version so I could not wait to see the 2010 version.  Now I’m not going to lie I did have high expectations about this movie which probably wasn’t the best idea because I was greatly disappointed.  Going into the movie I was worried that Tim Burton’s weird imagination layered on top of Lewis Carroll’s already-surreal material would create a kind of mind overkill and maybe even lose the essence of the original Alice in Wonderland.  Needless to say, I was right.

I really could not see the point of Alice not remembering anything.  Pretty much the whole time that she was in Wonderland she thought she was dreaming.  It was just frustrating to spend the whole film so far ahead of Alice.  I will say that I was happy that there were still the original things that Alice had experienced in the original Alice in Wonderland, for example to Alice chasing the rabbit and falling down the long hole, to the re-sizing of Alice and the Cheshire Cat.  As a Alice in Wonderland fan I was happy to see that.  The plot through pushed me away along with some of the new characters. Alice is now in search of herself, more than anything else, and the film calls on her to find both inner and outer strength to destroy the forces of evil such as the Queen of Hearts.

Also if you get headaches easily I wouldn’t recommend seeing it in 3D, but if your into new experiences and are an avid movie go-er and are a die hard Alice in Wonderland fan you might like, but don’t day I didn’t warn you.

Below you can check out the trailer for Alice in Wonderland.

“I’m right where I belong”- Nicole Richie

In the beginning of the week Socialite and fashion designer Nicole Richie and Rocker and Singer Joel madden of the band good Charlotte have made there engagement official.  They’ve been together since December 2006, so for almost four years now and have two children, there daughter Harlow, 2 and son Sparrow, 5 months.   This past Monday night on The Late Show with David Letterman Nicole Richie announces her recent engagement and seems thrilled about it.  At a recent Knicks game that Joel Madden attended he tells a reporter that while he can’t give certain details on how he popped the question but he does go on to say that it was very romantic.

You might be asking yourself why I’m writing about there recent engagement.  You’re most likely thinking “Oh, another Hollywood disaster to be.”  Well I’d have to disagree.  This is because I feel that Nicole and Joel didn’t do the norm of what people expect.  For example, they didn’t get married then have children.  They did things at there own pace.  They had two children before marriage.  Some people might think that ruins or confuses children but I feel it’s smarter to take things slow and make sure you know exactly what you want.  Come on, this is Hollywood, people get together and break up like its going out of style.  So from what I see Nicole and Joel decided to take things slow and seemed to have gone in the right direction.  After a few years of living with someone and having kids with them, you know if you want to spend the rest of your life with that person.  That is the reason I respect this engagement, they have gotten to know one another and didn’t take a leap right into marriage which is why I feel this might be lasting for awhile.  So, people who think they need to tie the knot before children should re-think that.  You need to make sure your making the right choices and take things slow.  I’m glad they did what they did.  I think it sets up a good example in the Hollywood that should be followed.  Congratulations you two!

Here you can watch Nicole Richie talk about the recent engagement and see a picture of Joel Madden and there two kids!
